Backup and security solutions provider Asigra has launched a new platform designed to provide comprehensive backup and recovery capabilities for SaaS applications like Salesforce, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace and others, the company said in a news release. The new product, SaaSBACKUP, is expected to be available in North America in Q3, followed by Europe and the UK in Q4.
Customers will have access to a software development kit that enables rapid SaaS application growth, allowing them to continually add new connections as needs arise, and Asigra, which designed the tool for managed service providers, expects it to be deployed as a complement to traditional on-premise backup solutions.
“IT professionals are coming to understand that the protection of SaaS application data throughout an organization is not only a legal obligation but also vital for protecting reputation and finances,” Eric Simmons, Asigra CEO, said in the news release. “The importance of this cannot be overstated and drives our focus on protecting the entire SaaS application spectrum.”
The global SaaS sector is expected to quadruple by the end of the decade, expanding to nearly $1 trillion by 2029.
